CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- It's official. Mayor Vi Lyles is running for re-election this fall.
She filed her paperwork at the Mecklenburg County Board of Elections Thursday afternoon. She says tackling transportation and affordable housing are issues she plans to focus on this year.
She is one of two democrats who have filed to run for the mayoral position in the Queen City. The other democrat is Joel Odom.
Republican David Rice is also running to represent Charlotte.
