CHARLOTTE, N.C.—A military veteran in Bessemer city with 20 years of service received a new roof Monday.

  • A military veteran recieved a new roof as part of a new project.
  • He joined the U.S. Army National Guard in 1987 and was deployed to Iraq in 2003.
  • This home makeover project has helped 130 military members since 2016.

With the help of a new project, Jesse Gladney was the lucky veteran who got a home makeover.

Contractors a part of the Owens Corning Roof Deployment project are working with purple heart homes to provide new roofs for veterans in need.

Since the project started in 2016, over 130 military members have received new roofs.
