FORT MILL, S.C. -- A zoning meeting will be held tonight for plans to build a gas station and self-storage facility right next to an elemntary school in fort mill.

  • Some families have expressed concerns at prior meetings about the health hazard from gas fumes
  • Town leaders say there's not much they can do
  • Parents say they won't give up their fight, and will take the issue to court if necessary

Some families have expressed concerns at prior meetings about the health hazard from gas fumes that would come from the 7-11 at Dobys Bridge Road and Fort Mill Parkway.

Town leaders say there's not much they can do.

Fort Mill Mayor Guynn Savage says the land was zoned for commercial use in the early 2000's, long before Doby's Bridge Elementary School was built in 2014.

Despite that, parents say they won't give up their fight, and will take the issue to court if necessary.
