MECKLENBURG COUNTY, N.C. -- If you get a call from the someone claiming to be from the Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office, law enforcement wants you to write that number down.

• Mecklenburg County Police are looking into scammers who are impersonating police.
• The scammers call pretending to give people courtesy calls for warrants out for their arrest. 
• The caller also might say that you owe money or a retainer to prevent you from being arrested.
