PINE KNOLL SHORES, N.C. -- The North Carolina Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores is set to open its Eagle Landing Habitat on Independence Day.

- Two bald eagles were rescued after suffering wing injuries
- The aquarium is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The aquarium has a 3,000 square-foot enclosure for the two flightless bald eagles. It's decked out with large perches and a rock pond.
Both eagles were injured and had to have their wings amputated, so they would not survive in the wild.
Eagle Landing was originally set to open on Memorial Day. However, it was delayed due to ongoing recovery efforts are Hurricane Florence.
The aquarium is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
