BURKE COUNTY, N.C. -- The U.S. Forest Service is looking for the people responsible for damaging the Brown Mountain Overlook in Burke County.

  • Railings were pulled out of the ground and the property was damaged. 
  • Officials say the repairs could cost up to $10,000 dollars, and that cost will fall on taxpayer shoulders.
  • The overlook is part of the Pisgah National Forest, which is government property.
