ALEXANDER COUNTY, N.C. – The Alexander County Sheriff's Office confirms that the two bodies found in a home intentionally set on fire are an 11 year old and a 12 year old.

  • Two bodies were found in a burned out mobile home Saturday night.
  • Authorities believe the fire was arson.
  • Two children were killed in the fire and their mother is presumed to be dead.

Two people, 30-year-old Areli Aguirre-Avilez and 16-year-old Heidi Wolfe are now facing murder charges in connection to the deadly fire. They face three counts of first-degree murder.

The children's mother, Maria Calderon, is missing and presumed to be dead.  Authorities say Calderon, initially thought to be one of the bodies found, filed a domestic violence protective order on Avilez six months ago. That order expired Sunday.

Officials are now looking for two people of interest, Jose Mendez and Luis Sanchez. They are believed to be acquaintances of Calderon and are not considered suspects at this time.
