CATAWBA COUNTY, N.C. – The Catawba County Board of Commissioners has declared a State of Emergency in Catawba County.

  • Heavy rainfall has led to a State of Emergency declaration for Catawba County.
  • Rain has caused flooding throughout the area.
  • Damage and water rescues have been reported. 

According to officials, heavy rainfall has led to numerous water rescues, severe flooding, infrastructure damage, hazardous travel conditions, and the potential for widespread power outages for residents in the County.

Residents are advised not to leave their homes unless they have to, and not to drive on roads with standing or flowing water on them.
