CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Two local Smoothie King franchises have been temporarily closed after racial epithets were found on customer receipts.
- Racial epithets were found on receipts from two Charlotte Smoothie King locations.
- Photos of one receipt were posted on social media.
- Employees are both stores have been fired and the both of the locations are temporarily closed.
The first incident happened Sunday afternoon at the Smoothie King off of Mt. Holly-Huntersville Road near Latta Plantation.
A customer took a photograph of a receipt with the word written on it after ordering a beverage from the store. The photo of the receipt was then posted on social media.
A second incident took place at the Smoothie King on Davis Lake Parkway.
In a statement, the CEO Smoothie King said, “What happened is totally unacceptable and go against every value that we stand for."
According to the company, both employees have been terminated.
