NORTH CAROLINA -- USA Today has released its list of worst cities to live in state by state.

In North Carolina, Lexington was voted the worst.

The rank was based on factors such as crime, property values, jobs and proximity to services.

Lexington has a population of 18,916 people, a median home value of $102,800 (state median is $161,000), and a poverty rate of 31% (state rate is 16.1%).
