CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Once a 49er, always a 49er! That's the attitude UNCC has as they recruit students that stopped their studies, in order to get them to come back and finish their degrees.

  • The 49ers finish program has helped more than 900 students, who for whatever reason left college, graduate
  • Many of those students were recognized at UNCC's commencement last week
  • Former UNCC students with 90 credits or more are eligible

The 49ers finish program has helped more than 900 students, who for whatever reason left college, graduate.

Many of those students were recognized at UNCC's commencement last week, some taking decades off before returning to complete their studies.

"It's wonderful for us to have that opportunity to help them complete that dream," said UNCC Oases Director Janet Daniels.

The program is considerer a model in the country.

Former UNCC students with 90 credits or more are eligible.
