RALEIGH, N.C. – As a native North Carolinian, I can honestly say I think our state bird should be the mosquito.

• Many NC Cities made Orkin's national 'Top 50 Mosquitos Cities' list.
• Charlotte was worst in the state at #9.
• Raleigh-Durham was #10 and Greensboro was #43.

A list recently released by Orkin seems to support that opinion, ranking many North Carolina cities amongst the worst in the nation for mosquitos.

At the worst in the state, Charlotte ranks #9 in the nation, followed immediately by Raleigh-Durham at #10.

Also making the list is Greensboro at #43.

Orkin’s Top 50 Mosquito Cities list was made by looking at the number of mosquito customers served from April 1, 2018 to March 31, 2019.
