STANLY COUNTY, N.C. -- Charges are pending for a pickup truck driver after a daycare bus carrying 15 children and two adults overturned Tuesday afternoon.

  • It happened just before 2:45 p.m. Tuesday
  • Several people were transported as a precaution
  • The operator of the truck was not injured

Troopers say a call for a personal injury call came in at 2:42 p.m. for a three-car collision.

According to them, the bus was traveling east on Quail Ridge Road, approaching U.S. 52, when a driver ran a stop sign, hitting the left side of the bus and overturning it.

People on-board the bus were transported to a hospital as a precaution.

Authorities say, after the truck hit the bus, another car was side swiped. That driver was airlifted with serious injuries.

The operator of the truck was not injured.

The county released a statement saying all involved are "doing well."
