CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Former UNC Charlotte student and ROTC cadet Riley Howell was laid to rest Sunday.
Howell is said to have died a hero and was buried with full military honors.
He and Reid Parlier both died during Tuesday's tragic shooting at UNCC. Four others were injured in the shooting.
Police say the 21 year old's actions to delay the shooter saved lives and prevented additional people from being hurt in the shooting.
His memorial service was held at Lake Junaluska.
