CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The suspect in the UNC Charlotte shooting, Trystan Terrell, who was supposed to appear in court Thursday afternoon will instead have a bond hearing in a couple weeks.

Terrell waived his right to a first appearance, so he was not physically present in court or in a video appearance.

Police say Terrell has been charged with two counts of murder, four counts of attempted murder, four counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, and possession and discharge of a firearm on educational property.

The suspect legally bought the gun used in the shooting and had multiple rounds of ammunition.

CMPD police chief Kerr Putney says he was the lone gunman. "There is absolutely no one else we're looking at. We're very confident we have exactly the people involved. The person involved. There are no others we're seeking based on the evidence we've got so far," he said on Wednesday.

Terrell was a student at the school and his major was history, but he was not enrolled this spring semester.

The bond hearing is set to take place on May 15.
