The fourth annual Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Climb is to honor the first responders who died saving lives on September 11, 2001.

That day, Stephen Siller had just finished his shift when he heard about a plane hitting the World Trade Center.

He returned to work, and then never made it home.

The inaugural Charlotte climb was held in 2015. It was the first event of its kind to take place outside of New York City.

It is now one of the largest climbs in the Tunnel to Towers National Run, Walk and Climb Series, in the nation.
