FORSYTH COUNTY, N.C. -- Business 40 is scheduled to see more lane closures in Kernersville this week.
- Lane closures are scheduled between Wednesday and Friday
- They’re set for during the day
- Crews will repair roadway surface between Main Street and Hastings Hill Road
Repairs will be made on the interstate between Main Street and Hastings Hill Road.
They will occur during the day Wednesday and Friday.
DOT District Engineer Pat Ivey says it’s part of the interchange that’s being built at Business 40 and the Winston-Salem beltway.
"A lot of the contractors were put behind with all the rain and they're trying to make up some time," said Ivey.
Dixie Braun at New Image Salon in Kernersville says they’re already seeing delays with the Business 40 Project that’s underway in Downtown Winston-Salem.
“We have clients who drive in from Winston or Greensboro who are late a lot because of the congestion on the interstate," said Braun.
Ivey says the work will make for a quicker commute in the long run.
"You can't go anywhere in Forsyth County without seeing an orange and white barrel right now, we just ask people to be patient, there is a lot of work going on, but the end result will be great," said Ivey.
