CHARLOTTE, N.C -- The Charlotte Knights and Autism Charlotte teamed up for an inclusive Easter egg hunt at the Knights stadium.
The field was covered in enough eggs to give children space if they had anxiety issues. It also gave slower moving children enough time to get in on the fun.
The event was built for children with autism, but kids with other special needs and neurotypical children were also invited to attend.
Mindy Seward’s 11-year-old-son, Nathan, has autism.
“He has a hard time with anxiety and this gives him a chance to be around kids who may have the same issues and this gives him a chance to just wander and do what he wants to do,” she said.
Candy for the eggs was donated by sponsors and the event was free for all families.
