CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Charlotte rapper DaBaby has announced that his first major tour will wrap in his hometown.

The 'Baby on Baby' tour will conclude at The Fillmore in Charlotte on June 1. The tour already had a previously announced stop in Raleigh for May 12.

The west Charlotte native, whose real name is Jonathan Lyndale Kirk, gained mainstream notoriety after he was involved in a shooting at a Huntersville Walmart that killed 19-year-old Jalyn Craig.

Kirk was never charged in Craig's death and has stated on social media that the shooting was in self-defense. He was, however, charged with a misdemeanor for carrying a concealed weapon.

While the charge was dropped on March 28 after a "key civillian witness" was unavailable, a spokesperson with the Mecklenburg County District Attorney's office said the charge has been reissued. Because a warrant has not been served, Kirk does not have a court date.

After the shooting, Kirk saw a massive increase in popularity when his most recent project, Baby on Baby, reached No. 1 on Apple Music
