NORTH CAROLINA -- As the deadline approaches, candidates are rolling in to file for the District 9 congressional seat.

So far, six people have filed, including Dan McCready who announced he is rerunning in the election.

Republicans Stony Rushing, Fern Shubert, and Dan Bishop are running. Libertarian Jeff Scott is also competing for the seat.

The last day to file for candidacy is Friday, March 15 at 5 p.m., and the new election for the district has been set for September 10.
