CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- After a day of sunshine Wednesday, enjoy one more day of completely dry weather before rain chances pick back up beginning Friday and stick around for at least a week.

After a cold start to Valentine's Day, highs will soar into the mid-60s for many by the afternoon -- a good 10 degrees above average -- under mostly to partly sunny skies. The weather will stay dry Thursday evening for date night!

Rain chances will pick up in the mountains Friday. Other than a chance for an isolated shower across the Charlotte-metro, most Piedmont areas will be dry but mostly cloudy Friday.

By Saturday, all of us will be looking at rain to start the day. Sunday will feature additional chances for showers with highs dipping back into the 40s to low 50s. Monday through at least Thursday of next week will feature abundant cloud cover and daily chances for rain. Enjoy the sunshine while we still have it!
