ASHE COUNTY, N.C. -- Ashe County Schools reopened Monday after a flu outbreak led to classes being cancelled Friday.

Superintendent Phyllis Yates says 452 students were out sick from the system's five schools and early learning center.

Additionally, 30 teachers also called out sick.
Yates said the schools were deep cleaned before classes resumed.
