CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Breweries are easy to find in Charlotte but, for people who don’t like beer, there are fewer options.
- Patrick Villafane is in the process of opening a wine bar called “The Bohemian” on Pecan Ave
- A number of wine bars have recently opened in Charlotte
- The alcohol market is expected to undergo a big change over the next few years
Patrick Villafane is the owner of the Hop Shop in Plaza Midwood. Recently they've started increasing their wine collection.
“We're having events weekly that involve wine and that made me see there's a need for it in the neighborhood,” Villafane says.
He's turned that need into an opportunity.
Villafane is in the process of opening a wine bar called “The Bohemian” on Pecan Ave. in Plaza Midwood.
The wine bar will feature bottles from across the world and offer food like cheese charcuteries.
“For the people that are not as sold on beer it's going to be your place to come get wine,” Villafane says. “It's going to be a place where you can go, bring your friends, enjoy a glass of wine, without feeling you have to fuss about it.”
It's not the only new wine addition in Charlotte. A number of wine bars have recently opened.
It's why Villafane expects the alcohol market to undergo a big change over the next few years.
“I think it could look a lot different,” Villafane says.
The Bohemian is expected to open this summer.
