CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Over a dozen immigrants were arrested Wednesday morning in Charlotte by I.C.E.

According to Comunidad Colective, the incident comes right after a workplace raid in Sanford, where 30 people were taken into custody.

The Sanford incident happened at Bear Creek Arsenal. A witness said I.C.E. investigators entered the company's break room and took anyone who did not have a valid I.D.

Bear Creek Arsenal says it is cooperating with the investigation and that its human resource department complied with the law in its hiring practices.

The increase in I.C.E. arrests comes as a result of Mecklenburg County ending the 287-G-Program last year when Sheriff Garry McFadden took office.

Congresswoman Alma S. Adams tweeted that her office is in contact the the Depatment of Homeland Security and I.C.E. in order to get answers.
