NORTH CAROLINA -- The State Board of Elections has appointed its new chair and secretary.

Bob Cordle of Charlotte has been appointed board chair and Dr. Stella Anderson of Boone as board secretary.

The board says its first priority is settling a date for an evidentiary hearing in the 9th Congressional District investigation and appointing members to the 100 county boards of elections.

Jeff Carmon III of Durham, David Black of Concord and Ken Raymond of Winston-Salem were also appointed to the board by Gov. Roy Cooper.
