A healthy storm system is rolling into the eastern US today. We will continue to have the chance of some showers at times today, and then our heaviest, most widespread period of rain comes late tonight into Sunday morning as a cold front approaches. A few storms could also be involved during the time frame.
Sunday will be a day where our highs occur prior to daybreak. Then, look for falling temperatures throughout the day and stiff west and northwesterly winds.
By the time Monday morning arrives, I expect most lows to be well down into the 20s.
Monday will be very chilly with highs 10-15 degrees below average for this time of year, and then another widespread, hard freeze will occur Monday night into Tuesday morning.
Another storm system approaches midweek, and some showers look likely later Wednesday into Thursday. An even colder blast of air is possible in the 7-10 day range as a pattern favoring eastern US cold settles in.
