PINEVILLE, N.C. -- One person is dead after being shot at Carolina Place Mall in Pineville.

- Police say the shooting is an isolated incident.
- A DTLR employee is in custody.
MEDIC confirms that they responded to a gunshot wound call at the mall and when they arrived, one subject was found dead.
Police say the shooting happened a little after noon and the two men knew each other and had an ongoing dispute before the shooting.
They believe the deceased entered DTLR and started a physical confrontation with a DTLR employee. The deceased was shot allegedly by the DTLR employee and the employee turned himself into Pineville PD within an hour of the shooting.
Carolina Place has a no gun policy and police are trying to figure out where the gun came from.
Police say that this was an isolated incident between the two men and there is no reason to believe anyone at the mall in in danger.
The victim has been identified as 24-year-old Khali Amir Holmes. No word on the suspect's identity as authorities continue to investigate.
