The crash occurred just after 5 a.m. near exit 67.

Officials say it appears the vehicle lost control in the rain, hit the median, and re-entered the roadway. When the driver of that vehicle got out of the car he was struck by another car.

Authorities believe his lights were not on when he was hit; possibly due to damage caused from the accident.

The name of the deceased has not been released pending the notification of their next of kin.

The crash closed I-485 in the area.

No charges are expected to be filed.
