CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The City of Charlotte is celebrating a milestone!
- Charlotte celebrated its 250th birthday Monday.
- The city was founded right at at Trade and Tryon streets.
- The celebration was put together by City of Charlotte, Charlotte City Center and Atrium Health.
The Queen City is celebrated its 250th birthday on Monday and city leaders are threw a party fit for royalty.
Exactly 250 years ago to the day that Charlotte was founded right at Trade and Tryon, a gathering was held – but with plenty more people!
The City of Charlotte, Charlotte City Center and Atrium Health all came together to throw a huge party to celebrate the city.
“What better place to celebrate Charlotte’s 250th anniversary than at the site of the city’s founding and we’re here in the heart of the city where everyone is welcome, everyone can come and celebrate,” said Adam Rhew of Charlotte Center City Partners.
Johnson and Wales University made more than 30 birthday cakes to give to everyone.
