MYRTLE BEACH, N.C. -- A small plane crashed in the ocean near Springmaid Pier at Myrtle Beach on Sunday.
One person, the pilot, was on board at the time.
Myrtle Beach Fire Water Rescue crews say that person was critically injured.
The plane was headed to Myrtle Beach International Airport, but crashed in the Atlantic Ocean.
The National Transportation Safety Board and Federal Aviation Administration are investigating the cause.
