A doctor from Novant Health and the University of Carolina Charlotte title-nine investigator were up for questioning. The main focus was how the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department treated Olsen at headquarters.
The detective with the sexual assault unit says Olsen did not know he had a warrants out for his arrest at the time he walked in.
“The defendant wasn’t in custody, so I didn’t have to read him his rights,” detective Christina Coughill with the department’s sexual assault unit said.
Coughill also said she never stepped foot inside Olsen’s house to collect evidence, nor did she send any officers out to check it out.
The trial continues Friday.
