CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Police in Charlotte are investigating after an armed robbery occurred in Uptown overnight.
- An armed robbery occurred on S. College Street Monday night.
- The suspect returned a short time later and fired a gun at the victim, but missed.
- Reggie Pettus, 22, has been arrested for the crime.
Investigators say an adult male victim was walking in the vicinity of the Panera Bread and Carolina Ale House on S. College Street around 1:30 a.m. when a suspect, identified now as Reggie Pettus, 22, robbed him of his personal belongings.
After the suspect fled the victim realized they had gotten away with his car keys so he remained at the scene.
The victim chose not to call 911.
A short time later, for an unknown reason, the suspect returned to the scene and shot at the suspect. The victim was not struck and the suspect fled to a parking deck on Fourth Street.
Charlotte Police arrived on the scene within minutes and located Pettus with the gun.
Pettus has been arrested and charged.
