LILESVILLE, N.C. -- Rain washed-out railroad tracks caused a train to derail Sunday evening.
The NCDOT says Hailey's Ferry Road, south of U.S. 74, is blocked where several train cars jumped the tracks. The train crew was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries, and personnel confirmed there was no fire.
The CSX train was headed to Hamlet, NC.
Emergency workers say three engines are on their sides and leaking diesel fuel, a fourth is upright but off the tracks.
No word how long it'll take to right the cars.
