CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- American Idol auditions were held in Charlotte on Friday.
- The American Idol bus came to Charlotte Friday.
- The show's upcoming season will premiere in 2019.
- Idol alumni from NC include Fantasia Barrino, Clay Aiken and Scotty McCreery.
Auditions were scheduled from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Levine Center for the Arts Plaza on South Tryon Street.
After running for 15 seasons on Fox, the series return for a 16th season on ABC in 2018.
The 17th season is scheduled to premiere on Fox in 2019.
Several prominent American Idol winners and alumni are from North Carolina, including Fantasia Barrino, Clay Aiken and Scotty McCreery.
