WARSAW, N.C. -- A family of four in Duplin County is lucky to be alive after a van crashed through a window at a booth they were sitting in at Waffle House Wednesday morning.

  • A van crashed into the Waffle House in Warsaw Wednesday morning.
  • The van was driven by Richard Blackburn, 84.
  • A family of four was injured, but is expected to be okay. 

Police say Richard Blackburn, 84, was attempting to park his 2015 Chrysler Town & Country and ended up crashing into the building.

The family was transported by EMS to a local hospital where they were treated and released.

The van caused extensive damage to the restaurant, which is expected to be closed for the foreseeable future. 

No charges have been announced in this incident.
