HARRISBURG, N.C. -- A Cabarrus County 7 year old spent her whole summer saving money to give back to others.
- Kaleyah Resper started backpack program "Hope for the Homeless"
- The backpacks include toiletries, snacks and bottled water
- Multiple businesses in the county have donated to the cause
Kaleyah Resper says she's always wanted to give to those less fortunate, which is why she started her own backpack program "Hope for the Homeless".
Through toiletries, snacks, and bottled water, Kaleyah hopes to show those less fortunate that people care, and give them a pick-me-up for their day.
"Everywhere we travel we see people holding out signs that say help,” said Kaleyah. “And I finally wanted to do something about it.”
Kaleyah's grandmother says multiple businesses in Cabarrus County have also donated to the cause.
If you would like to help Kaleyah you can find her Facebook page.
