FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -- A woman has been arrested and charged with murder after a man was found shot inside a Fayetteville motel room Sunday.
- Taloria McDonald is charged with first-degree murder.
- Police say McDonald shot Roger Jones.
- Jones later died at the hospital.
Police responded to the shooting at the Tropical Motel in the 4300 block of Bragg Boulevard around 7:30 p.m.
When they arrived, they found 57-year-old Roger Jones suffering from a gunshot wound inside a room. Jones was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center where he later died.
Police say Jones and the suspect, 43-year-old Taloria McDonald, knew each other. Both lived at the motel.
A neighbor told Spectrum News the shooting was over drugs.
McDonald has been charged with first degree murder and is being held at the Cumberland County Detention Center without bond.
The investigation is ongoing.
