Cooper orders flags at half-staff for Spangler

NORTH CAROLINA -- Gov. Roy Cooper has ordered all U.S. and North Carolina flags at half-staff to honor former UNC System President CD Spangler.

Until Tuesday, all flags in the state should fly at half-staff.

C.D. Spangler died on July 22 at the age of 86.

In his lifetime, Spangler served as a Charlotte businessman and the president of the University of North Carolina.
