CONCORD, N.C. -- Legendary NASCAR artist Sam Bass needs help.
- Sam Bass battled type 1 diabetes and needs a new kidney
- Bass has still not found a match after donors volunteered
- Donors can complete a packet and send it to Wake Forest Baptist Health
After battling type 1 diabetes for years, he now is in dire need of a new kidney.
Recently the Flood Sisters Kidney Foundation, based out of New York, heard his story and partnered with JR Motorsports to create a promotional video, but 60 possible donors later, still no match. And time is running out.
“The urgency for the kidney is there,” said Bass. “I’ve tried to smile and address it, but it’s scary at the same time.”
If you would like to help find a kidney match for Sam, you can request a living donor packet to complete and send directly to Wake Forest Baptist Health on Sam’s website.
You can also contact the Flood Sisters Kidney Foundation for more information on how to help Sam or someone else by becoming a living donor.
