CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A Charlotte teen is charged with murder after an 18-year-old was found dead in a West Charlotte home.

18-year-old Jamie Bright was found dead inside a West Charlotte home with a gunshot wound. Police say it happened on Clanton Road just after 1 a.m.
Homicide detectives charged 17-year-old Jermarion David Pernell Worthy with the murder of Bright.
When police got to the 1500 block of Clanton Road, they found a man with an apparent gunshot wound.
Medics later pronounced the victim dead on the scene. Investigators say both Bright and Worthy were inside the home at the time of the shooting.
Bright's sister said the two teens were friends. She described Bright as a quiet teen who loved football and worked hard in school.
Worthy has been transferred to the Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office.
