NORTH CAROLINA -- Not all sharks are as infamous, or as terrifying, as the monster from the Hollywood film "Jaws." In fact, there are more than 465 different species of sharks in the sea, and only 50 species can be found off the North Carolina coast. Additionally, they each have different diets.

Not to worry, not all species are in our waters year-round, so that nearly cuts the number in half from season to season. Some are swimming north and south as well as in-shore and off-shore based on water temperatures, food, and breeding patterns according to North Carolina Aquariums.

The Spinner Shark: Known for its acrobatics, these sharks can sometimes put on a show.

The Finetooth Shark: These sharks range from small to medium and are categorized by their pointed snouts.

The Bonnethead Shark: Plant-eating sharks do exist and these sharks have some experts wondering what makes sea grass a favorite unlike other carnivorous sharks.

The Sand Tiger Shark: These sharks might seem to be staring into your soul because they don't have blinking eyelids. In fact, their mouths extend behind their eyes with rows of teeth

See for yourself.

The Sandbar Shark: This shark lives up to its name. It prefers to be near the sandy bottoms near the coast
