- The area around Lake Tahoma Dam was hit with a mandatory evacuation.
- Officials say that the area is now safe.
- A landslide earlier shut down I-40.
Emergency managers say that engineers inspected the dam Wednesday morning.
It was earlier thought that the dam was compromised, and a mandatory evacuation order was issued for the surrounding area.
The Flash Flood Emergency has been lifted for the area, but a Flash Flood Warning will continue through midday Wednesday. The warnings may be extended later in the day with possible flooding around Lake James in Burke and McDowell counties.
