CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The State Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly crash at the intersection of the outer loop of Interstate 485 and I-77 South in southwest Charlotte.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police and state troopers have been working together to piece together what happened.
The deadly crash involved two trucks -- an 18-wheeler and another, smaller box truck.
There's no word on what led up to the crash at the moment, but one person died at the scene.
The white box truck appears to have damage on the passenger side wheel.
The crash did not heavily impact the morning commute on I-485 or I-77, but did close two of the lanes on the oncoming ramp.
