CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A few showers and thunderstorms will be possible Thursday afternoon through early Thursday evening. 

• Showers possible Thursday afternoon and evening
• Areas in low 90s at start of weekend
• Mother's Day will be hot and sunny

We may see a few cells push strong to severe limits with the better zone up near the NC/VA line.

The other issue, will be the heat as we head towards Friday and through the weekend.  Expect many areas to land in the lower 90s through the period.

There will be some "mugginess" increasing, but nothing on par with late June, July and August.

Mother's day will be sun filled and hot. Showers and storm chances are limited, though not impossible.
