CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The city is unveiling new retail shops, community tech co-ops and shared work spaces all while preseverving the history of Charlotte's north end community.

In the shadow of Uptown Charlotte sits an old manufacturing facility, which started out as an assembly plant for thr Ford Model T cards and eventually it became the Charlotte Area Missle Plant.

Now, a developer and the city are working to help revitalize this piece of history. 

"We see it as an ecosystem of entrepenuers so we can interact with other companies and see the type of work they are doing in the community," states Lyn Kim, who works Unyq; a global startup that designs prosethitcs.

Also excited is Melissa Gaston, Co-Founder of the North End Community Coalition.

"It's going to be vibrant, there's going to be people here," she states. "In the next five to ten years, I think it is going to be a great place to be."
