TAYLORSVILLE, N.C. – A man is in jail accused of involuntary manslaughter.
Investigators say 31-year-old Ronald Dunn shot a man he mistakenly thought was a coyote.
It happened in the woods Monday. Police say Michael Marsh had an electronic coyote call that Dunn heard. He told officers he thought he saw a coyote in a tree. He then opened fire striking Marsh in the chest.
Officers say Dunn rendered aid and called 911 for help. Marsh later died at a nearby hospital.
Dunn is under a $75,000 secure bond.
