CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- It was more than just fans who showed up for Friday's Belk Bowl at the Bank of America Stadium.
PETA activists rushed the field protesting Texas A&M's use of golden retrievers for muscular dystrophy research.
PETA claims the university breeds them to intentionally develop a crippling canine form of muscular dystrophy, that leaves the dogs struggling to walk, swallow and even breathe.
The activists held signs on the field and were left alone for several minutes, before police arrested all three of them.
Their identities are not known.
