CHARLOTTE - The Charlotte Mecklenberg Police Department is teaming up with QuikTrip (QT) gas stations to set up spots for people using online marketplace services like Craigslist and letgo.

According to CMPD, the goal of the exchange zones is to create a safe meeting spot for online shoppers to exchange purchased items.

The spots will be set up at 14 QuikTrip stations across Charlotte, with two spots set up at each station. They will be denoted by two red parking spots.

This comes after 21-year-old college student Zachary Finch was murdered in Charlotte, responding to an advertisement to buy cell phone on letgo.
