DENUBE, N.Y. -- A large fire engulfed a barn in Herkimer County Wednesday morning.
The fire was burning for some time before the owner realized what was going on.
Firefighters arrived at the farm on Paradise Road in the town of Danube around 6:15 a.m.
They found the barn, a shed, and part of a house on fire.
However, officials say of the structures were vacant and not being used.
The owner of the property lives down the road, which is why the fire wasn't discovered right away.
Crews are still looking into the cause.
