FORT BRAGG -- The Fayetteville Police Department is investigating after a Fort Bragg 82nd Airborne Division paratrooper was killed during a collision over the weekend.
- Pfc. Jeremiah S. Holmes, 24, was killed in a collision while riding his motorcycle on Saturday evening
- Pfc. Homes had been in the Army for a year and was part of the 82nd Airborne Division since August 2016
- Holmes was posthumously awarded three medals in addition to the many honors he already had received
According to authorities, Pfc. Jeremiah S. Holmes, 24, of Rancho Cucamonga, California, was killed in a wreck while riding his motorcycle in Fayetteville on Saturday evening.
Pfc. Holmes had been in the Army since April 2016 and was assigned to the 82nd Airborne Division in August 2016.
Pfc. Holmes had received many honors including the National Defense Service Medal, the Global War on Terror Service Medal, the Army Service Ribbon and the Parachutist Badge. He has been posthumously awarded the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement Medal and the Army Good Conduct Medal.
